Vicki, located right here on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, offers a peek into her world and her LJM Custom Tiny House, with her feature on Living Big in a Tiny House! 🌿🏠

Living Big in a Tiny House is a popular youtube series where host, Bryce Langston, travels the world documenting the lives of those living in unique and interesting small homes. The show explores all kinds of downsized living, including tiny houses on wheels, micro apartments, cabins, treehouses, earth homes, shipping container homes, buses, vans and everything in between.

In this episode, Bryce dives into the magic of Vicki’s Tiny House Journey by visiting her right here on the Sunshine Coast, exploring the land she’s chosen to live on, listening to her story and admiring the amazing features of her Tiny Home.

After losing her home and everything she owned in the Christchurch Earthquake of 2011, Vicki packed her bags and travelled to Australia where she built a whole new life for herself, including an amazing tiny house on wheels! Losing her home and all of her possessions in the earthquake encouraged Vicki to build a new life focused on the things that are truly important to her and focusing on happiness, not things. Her tiny home is beautifully built and perfectly designed to fit her lifestyle.

After years of exploring inspiring Tiny House designs, Vicki chose to embark on a complete custom build journey with LJM Tiny Homes. Vicki was living interstate at that time so almost all of the design process was completed virtually. Vicki’s custom tiny house has many beautiful features including:

• 7.2m long with a 600mm step out over the front draw bar for shower and extension of sleeping loft
• Super sized bathroom with vanity, shower, composting toilet, floor to ceiling double storage cupboards housing washing machine, ample hanging space and plenty of adjustable shelving
• Bespoke u-shaped kitchen with full size pull-out pantry, fridge space with overhead cupboard, gas oven & double cooktop, integrated dish drawer, two corner cupboards & drawers, giving ample storage options
• Stunning natural Tasmanian blackwood timber kitchen benchtop, floating shelves, bathroom vanity and stair treads
• Dropped down breakfast bar to create a relaxed dining & work space
• Cosy sleeping loft with skylight & plant shelf nib wall creating a calming, private area for restful sleep
• Open storage on stairs with space to display books & other favourite items that ‘spark joy’
• Aspirational & eclectic living area complete with custom mural that allows flow to the covered deck for that perfect indoor/outdoor living

Vicki now works with us within the LJM Tiny Homes design team. She works closely with our clients on designs and specifications and helps to guide them on their Tiny House journey, offering incredible advice from her own experience.
